Due on Thursday, log onto Google Classroom and complete the Constitution questions from pgs. 9-14.



Vocabulary

Social Studies


Study for Tuesday's quiz on pgs. 3-8 in the Constitution book.  See information for the quiz on Google Classroom.

Students will be working on the Unit 5 workbook pages during class.

Due Monday, November 16th:  Complete the Unit 5 Vocabulary story.

Due on Thursday:  Complete the assignment:  Water:  A Resource at Risk.

Students will also be working on a group research lab.  Time will be given during class.  Some work may need to be completed at home.




Social Studies


Due on Monday:  Complete the Creating your own Constitution project on your Google doc.

Due on Thursday:  Complete the multiple choice and true and false questions on the Declaration of Independence from pg. 4 in the Constitution book.

On Thursday, the students will need to begin looking over information for the quiz on Tuesday, November 10th from pgs. 3-8 in the Constitution book.

Due on Friday:  Complete the true and false questions on the Constitutional Convention from pg. 6 in the Constitution book.



Vocabulary


Due Tuesday:  
Complete the Unit 4 Riddles on your Google doc.

Study for Thursday's Unit 4 Vocabulary test.

Social Studies


The students will be working on creating their own Constitution.  We will begin organizing information during Monday's class.  This project will be due on Monday, November 2nd.

Due Wednesday, October 28th you will need to complete your Google Doc:  The Unit 4 Vocabulary story.



Complete the Unit 4 Riddles on your Google doc - Due Tuesday, November 3rd.


8th Grade Science  


Due on Wednesday, October 28th, the students will need to complete information for the acknowledgement section, hypothesis and variable section of their Science Fair doc.

7th Grade Science

Due on Thursday:  Log onto STEMscopes and complete the Concept Review game.

This week, the students need to study for Friday's quiz on their scope:  Organism Interactions in Ecosystems. 



Social Studies

Due on Tuesday:  Complete the Google doc:  The Constitution and our Lives.  

Due on Friday:  Complete the Google doc:  Constitutional Superhero Project.




Vocabulary

Due Friday:  Complete pgs. 42-49 from the Unit 1-3 Review/Word Study questions in your Vocabulary book.  

Due Wednesday, October 28th you will need to complete your Google Doc:  The Unit 4 Vocabulary story.




8th Grade Science  

Complete your two typed pages of research for science fair by Wednesday.  Your research needs to be typed on your Science Fair paper doc.  If you have not already done so, please make a copy of the Science Fair template on Google Classroom.  Share your Science Fair paper with me at smohr@scaoaklawn.org.  Your paper needs to be 12 font, times new roman, and double spaced.  You need to have at least 3 sources in your research section. Time was given during Wednesday and Friday's Science class.  

Due on Wednesday:  Log onto STEMscopes and complete the Concept Review game.

7th Grade Science

Due on Thursday:  Complete the STEMscopes questions from the passage: The Desert Ecosystem. 

Information will be announced regarding next week's assessment on our current scope:  Organism Interactions in Ecosystems.
 



Social Studies

A study guide for information about the causes and events of the American Revolution will be sent home on Tuesday. Work on completing information from this study guide.  Refer to the American Revolution powerpoint on Google Classroom to help complete the study guide.  Study and prepare for Friday's test.



Vocabulary

On Friday, a Unit 3 worksheet was passed out in class for an opportunity to improve last week's vocabulary online grade. The Unit 3 worksheet is due on Tuesday.

Study for Thursday's Unit 3 Vocabulary test. 



8th Grade Science  

Complete your two typed pages of research for science fair by Wednesday, October 21st.  Your research needs to be typed on your Science Fair paper doc. on Google Classroom. Your paper needs to be 12 font, times new roman, and double spaced.  You need to have at least 3 sources in your research section.  You are receiving class time to work on this research, but need to complete some work at home as well.


Due on Friday:  Complete the deciphering motion scenario questions.

7th Grade Science

Due on Thursday:  Complete the assigned ReadWorks passage and questions.  This assignment will be available beginning on Tuesday. Please log onto ReadWorks to complete this assignment.


The final copy of the coronavirus informative essay is due tomorrow, Friday, October 9th.  




Social Studies

Due on Tuesday:  Complete the French and Indian War questions.

Due on Wednesday:  Complete the Struggle for Power questions.




Vocabulary

Due on Tuesday:  Complete the Unit 3 picture/sentence activity.  See directions/grade sheet that was sent home.  

The Unit 3 extra credit opportunity is due on Tuesday. Details are available on the student's Google Classroom page.
 



8th Grade Science  

Last week, we reviewed information on how to form a science research question.  This research question needs to have a variable that you will be changing as well as something that you will be measuring.  Many of you in class have selected a topic, but need to work on developing your research question.  If you need to find a new topic for science fair, you can you use the topic wizard on the science buddies website.  The research question is due on Wednesday, October 7th.  See the Science Fair tab for more information.

Due on Friday:  Complete the Watch Your Velocity STEMscopes questions. You will need to log onto STEMscopes to complete these questions.

Due Thursday:  Complete the Junior Scholastic vaccine questions.  



Social Studies

Study for Thursday's Jamestown quiz.  A study guide will be sent home.




Vocabulary

Study for Tuesday's Unit 2 Vocabulary test.  

Complete the Unit 3 picture/sentence activity.  See directions/grade sheet that will be sent home.  - Due Tuesday, October 6th.

A Science Fair topic and research problem must be selected and submitted for approval by Wednesday, September 30th. The Science Fair sheet must be completed and returned to school.  I will approve the topic and research problem.  You will also need a Science Folder for Wednesday, September 30th.

My homeroom will be finishing their Colony presentations on Monday and Miss Wood's homeroom will be finishing their presentations on Tuesday. Review the presentation rubric and make any notecards to help present your colony.

Last Friday, September 18th, a sheet detailing steps for the Science Fair was passed out during class.  A Science Fair topic, research problem must be selected and submitted for approval by Wednesday, September 30th. I will approve the topic and research problem.  You will work independently this school year on Science Fair.  You will also need a Science Folder for Friday, September 30th.

7th Grade Science 

We have been learning information from the STEMscopes series: Competition in Ecosystems.  

Due Friday:  Complete the Science Art - Cartoon.  


Social Studies

We have been working on our colony project in school.  A direction and grade sheet were sent home.  The poster part of this project is due on Monday, September 14th.  

Due Tuesday:  Complete the Starving Time questions that go along with the passage.

Due by Wednesday:  Complete notecards for your colony presentation. See rubric for presentation.


Vocabulary

Last week, we completed the Unit 1 Vocabulary test and began Unit 2 on Friday.

Due Wednesday:  Complete the Unit 2 Vocabulary story.  See directions and grade sheet.


8th Grade Science   

Class time was given to work on the Science STEMscopes 8th grade Diagnostic test.  This test needs to be finished by Monday, September 14th.  Use your STEMscopes login information from your card given during class.  

We have been learning information from the STEMscopes series: Newton's Third Law of Motion.

Due Friday:  Complete the Newton's Laws and Roller Coasters differentiated passage and questions sheet.

Information for September 7th -11th


7th Grade Science 

We will began our lab report last week after starting the egg experiment.  On Tuesday, during class, we will test their experiment.  We will also finish the results and conclusion of their lab report.  Complete the Google Form by Thursday on your science Google Classroom.

Due Friday:  Complete the Trouble in Paradise:  The Florida Everglades questions.  You will receive the passage and questions on a sheet during class.  After grading it, I will also record the grade on Google Classroom.


Social Studies

During the week, work on their colony project in school.  You may need to print some pictures at home.  Long construction paper will be provided.

Due Wednesday:  Complete the Google Classroom Events in History assignment.


Vocabulary

Any student that did not finish their Unit 1 Riddles assignment that is on Google Classroom needs to do so by Tuesday.

See extra credit on Google Classroom that needs to be completed by Thursday at 8:00 a.m.

Study for Thursday's Unit 1 Vocabulary test. 


8th Grade Science

Join their ReadWorks Science class.  Instructions for doing this along with their class code are on the student's Science Google Classroom.

Due Friday:  Complete the ReadWorks assignment:  Designing the First Flying Machine.  I will create a Google doc. with instructions for this assignment along with a link to ReadWorks.   

Class time was given to work on the Science STEMscopes 8th grade Diagnostic test.  This test needs to be finished by Monday, September 14th.  Use your STEMscopes login information from your card given during class.

7th Grade Science

Sign and return the weather sketcher permission slip.  The weather sketcher drawing needs to be completed for Tuesday, September 1st.

Enter the class code to join your Science ReadWorks.  Code will be given during class.

Complete the ReadWorks assignment:  The Penny Experiment.  I will provide a link on a Google Classroom doc and record your grade on this doc once this assignment is completed.  This assignment is due on Thursday, September 3rd.  


Social Studies

Complete the set of questions from the Massachusetts passage.  Due Tuesday, September 1st.

Study for the Social Studies test, which is Thursday, September 3rd on the 13 colonies and Roanoke:  The Lost Colony.  See study sheet that will be sent home.


Vocabulary
