Welcome!

My name is Laura Franks and I am very excited to be back as the Physical Education Teacher at St. Catherine of Alexandria for the 2020-2021 school year!


In the Alsip community I have been a gymnastics instructor for 15 years at the Alsip Park District. In addition to coaching gymnasticsI am also the Head Pool Manager and Swim Lesson Coordinator at the Alsip Sprayfari Aquatic Park during the summer.  After graduating from Illinois State University I was the Physical Education teacher at Rosa Parks Middle School for 5 years. At Rosa Parks Middle School I taught swimming and physical education to grades 6-8 and was also a Botvin LifeSkills Instructor. During the 2016-2017 school year I taught physical education, fitness and health at Queen of Peace High School. In my spare time I enjoy working out, playing sports, walking my dog, and spending time with family and friends. I am looking forward to seeing each student achieve success through movement this year!
